Building new vessels? Or need to comply
with hooks regulation MSC.1/Circ.1392?
Lifeboat hooks are a key focal point of the International Maritime Organization’s MSC.1/Circ.1392, which calls for mandatory improvements to safeguard lives and MSC.1/Circ.1206 rev.1 for periodic servicing and maintenance of LRRS.
The VIKING Nadiro Drop-In-Ball™’s patented design removes the risk of accidents during emergency use, routine testing, training and maintenance activities. So you can be sure your lifeboats won’t be let down before you’re good and ready.

Intuitive release and re-hooking
Conventional release and retrieval systems demand a lot of your crew. Three people have to carefully coordinate their actions through signaling – and with everything constantly moving, release and re-hooking is far from easy. Not so with Drop-In-Ball™. Only two crew members are required to re-hook it. The hook gets self-lock with a single push and you are ready to hoist your lifeboat.
An inclination inside the housing ensures the ball is securely held and cant be released unintentionally. Re-hooking couldn’t be more straightforward. In fact, it can easily be quickly performed using one hand.
What could be more simple?
